An Accidental Life

Dennis Lingane, a Journalist  with decades of involvement in the media, describes himself as an Irishman although he has never lived in Ireland. But has visited the Emerald Isle often, carries an Irish passport, drinks copious amounts of Guinness and Jameson whiskey, was for some years a competitive Irish step dancer and refers to the Emerald Isle as “home”.

Although born from Irish parents and having had a brief session in a junior school in Tralee, frequent attempts to settle there have always been derailed. He spent his first 20 years in England and the next 60 in Perth Western Australia the most isolated city in the world interrupted with a sabbatical year or or so in France. But he  insists Perth WA was just a base as he travelled the world as a journalist writing for myriad publications including Playboy Magazines, News Ltd publications, and various other esteemed publishers prepared to pay for in-depth investigative reports ranging from technology to booze.

He admits it was a hard life, but somebody had to take on the challenge to unveil the underbelly of these industries to the public which meant long periods in Japan, America and Europe.

In this autobiography covering the first half of his life he details the roots  for this successful lifestyle which he does admit were mostly accidental!
